With a fist bump and the most down-to-earth genuine nature, the other week I had the opportunity to meet and quickly talk with one of my hero’s of business - Daymond John at SSON week. We all tend to joke, "this is my baby," when we talk about things we deeply care about. But one man's approach to growing a brand and company took this concept to a whole new level, a perspective that profoundly impacted my life when I first heard his story on Sharktank as both the show and my collegiate career kicked off in tandem knowing I had to pay for my own college. This inspiration is why I embraced diverse experiences, from door-to-door sales and flipping pizzas and paninis my freshman year, to selling Bamboo Pillows and Biofreeze on club store floors by my sophom*ore. It motivated me thereafter to complete two co-op rotations at Enerfab, coach lacrosse at The Seven Hills School, and at the same time teach myself to code —all while pursuing my degree at the University of Cincinnati, that ultimately landed me at what was my dream company at the time. Although I am fortunate to come from a wonderful family and mother of 5 I hold in the same light, my life has always been centered on my passion of service and supporting others in my community, and not always a straight line. The way Daymond describes the quintessential entrepreneur as "a single mother" deeply resonates with me and profoundly influences both my daily actions and long-term endeavors for my clients and personal aspirations. It’s why my experience has lead me from coding, to consulting, to technical sales. He believes that single mothers epitomize many of the essential qualities of successful entrepreneurs. These qualities include resourcefulness, resilience, determination, multitasking, and the ability to manage limited resources effectively. Single mothers often have to navigate challenging circ*mstances, balancing work and family responsibilities, making tough decisions, and finding creative solutions to problems - just like we all do in our own capacities. Entrepreneurs must be adaptable, persistent, and capable of overcoming obstacles, where success is not solely about having a groundbreaking idea or access to capital, but rather about possessing the right mindset and qualities to navigate challenges and seize opportunities.Given that we are all entrepreneurs in the time we spend with the things we care about and the waking hours at our jobs, if you haven’t had the chance to pick up his books and need some mid-week motivation, I recommend giving them a try to see how your daily approach to your business mindset changes. #carpediem #sharktank #profitrecovery #S2P #singlemothermindset PRGX Global Inc. You see them thrive in their business; you don’t see the struggle (I’ve never been closer to quitting) It’s always rainbows and sunshineThe life of a successful entrepreneur - The networking events - The 69 $10k months - The sealed deals - The client wins- The jazz But what you don’t see is the struggle - The fear of going broke - Sleepless nights - Uncertainty- Mental exhaustion- Receding social circle - No time for self care- Moments of self doubt- Low revenue months - Constantly worrying about the next client The list doesn’t end. It’s easy to get swayed away by the glamour Of entrepreneurshipBut it’s only meant for those - Who can get dirty in the mud - Who can lose a 100 times and still not give up- Who can show up daily despite the challenges - Who are in it to win it It’s going to get ugly You’ll cry on some days You’ll question your choices You’ll be close to quitting on many But You’ll also deliver You’ll also laugh You’ll also win.Pick your hard.

Last week was the official start of summer here in North America, and it got me thinking about something:Summer likes to play head games with coaches, and all entrepreneurs …Some potential clients go MIA, posting pics of their trips to the cottage and the beach, and it’s easy to think that everyone is off-the-grid until September. It can all get a little frustrating, and lead to the “summertime blues”.But I think it’s all a mirage.Sure, some people are completely dialed-out.And others take more time off than in other seasons (and I don’t begrudge them for taking time to recharge with summer stuff …)But there are still a lot of people who are looking for help with challenges that are keeping them up at night. These are challenges that good coaches can help them with, regardless of what the temperature is outside. While I’m no stranger to the beach, I’m still keeping busy this summer – and that’s the way I like it.Too much time to sit back and commiserate with other entrepreneurs about how “nobody buys in the summer” won’t make you feel great. In my experience, the best cure for those summertime blues is to keep busy moving your business in the right direction, and if you’re still working away this summer you might be interested in this:My "Super Partner" joint venture package is available for just one person. That means that if you have an offer that benefits coaches you'll be able to get it in front of my followers for 365 straight days, across multiple platforms. To get the details, and book a call to chat with me about it, head over to the link in the comments!

For many successful entrepreneurs, their journey started with humble beginnings, trading work for services or learning valuable skills while engaging in team sports, mowing lawns, or working in retail. Side hustles often shape us into the bosses we are today. From the resilience learned while engaging in sports to the responsibility of managing a shoe store at a young age, these early experiences can teach invaluable life lessons. Moreover, the emotional connection and interaction can actually inspire and spark business insights.

Quitting your job to start a business with a person you just met, all while your wife is 8 months pregnant.Sounds like an absolutely bonkers decision! Yet, that's exactly how my partnership with Mark Lamb began. Our first encounter wasn't planned through meticulous networking or strategic meetings; it unfolded over a simple drink, an example of a casual setting which I think is where the greatest ventures often find their roots.Mark was introduced to me by a former colleague, a Paraplanner, who had quit his job.If I'm being honest, I think Mark scared him off as he said Mark wanted to take over the world, whereas he just wanted to write cases! However. He did have someone in mind who might also be interested in taking over the world...That person was me!Later that day, with only a few hours of acquaintance behind us, we were at SJP's office in Liverpool, charting the course for what would soon become Plus Group. It was a bold step, fuelled by mutual trust and a shared vision for the future of financial advice.Returning home to tell my wife, who was on the cusp of motherhood, about this sudden career pivot was the next big challenge. Given the circ*mstances, she was very understanding!(Thank you Kelly)Her understanding and support in that moment and the days that followed laid the cornerstone of not just a business venture, but a life-altering journey.Starting Plus Group with Mark was a testament to the power of belief – in an idea, in each other, and in the future we wanted to build. It really was a leap of faith!#financialadvice #paraplanning #SJP #businessadvice #entrepreneurship

I got a 22 cent raise working as a vet tech, assistant, secretary, & kennel. I got a 90-day performance review 90 days late, at the 6 month mark. I get pitched so often on LinkedIn that “any company would be lucky to have me” because I get sh*t done more efficiently & strategically than a lot of people can. But most companies can’t pay me what I’m worth- I realized this hopping professional dayjob industry to industry for most of my 20’s, seeking a level of happiness I wasn’t going to find in a dusty ass cubicle older than I am. The biggest regret I’ve had in my 20’s hasn’t been not being married, not having kids, not getting more time with my dead sister, not traveling more, & not “hitting pause.” It was that I started my company way later than I should have, & spent most of my 20’s working to build someone else’s dream at day jobs, & spent a chunk of my weekends at college parties or going out. I don’t even recognize who I was in my early 20’s. At all. If I could time travel & shake her ass awake, I would tell her to stop giving a f*ck about a social life, buckle down better, & start my brand. Now. Start the YouTube. Build the program. Do the pitches. Post the content. Stop f*cking around spending $$$ in college programs, & start f*cking around building investments & assets. Start realizing that the weight loss & lifestyle transformation you barely talk about it is exactly what people need to f*cking hear more of. And this isn’t trendy or popular to say in today’s age, but I don’t give a f*ck. It may come off as harsh to some people, but shaking your ass awake, realizing your damn worth, & building your own damn dream versus rotting away at someone else’s, is very, very, very, f*cking kind to yourself. Welcome to the gun show, I’m just getting started 💪🔥#entrepreneurship #womeninbusiness #business

📣 Best View in the House! 🏒💼As a parent and a business owner, I often find myself multitasking and juggling responsibilities. But there are moments like this one that truly fill my heart with pride and joy. While working in my training facility on back office stuff, I had the best seat in the house to witness my son, determined and passionate, honing his hockey skills. 🏒⛸️Seeing him put together a makeshift goalie setup, aiming for those challenging shots, was more than just pretty cool—it was a moment of pure inspiration. It reminded me of our recent conversation about dreams and goals. We had discussed his dream board and aspirations, and it was a candid talk about how dreams alone are not enough. To achieve those big goals, we need to put in the effort, dedication, and hard work. 💪As a parent, I'm here to provide guidance, tools, and support, but it's ultimately up to our kids to take the initiative and put in the work. We aren’t here to force or pressure them or live vicariously through their dreams. These are valuable life lessons that apply not only to sports but also to entrepreneurship. 📈I believe these conversations flowed into my 10-year-old son's business ideas that he shared with me. He was eager to start right away, but I encouraged him to take some time to plan, write a business plan, and gather the necessary tools. 📝Now, he's well-prepared, and his creative juices are flowing as he's on the right track to build a solid foundation for his business—just like constructing a skyscraper instead of a sandcastle. 🏰🏢These moments with our kids remind me that the best view in the house is witnessing their growth and progress, both in their passions and their curious and creative endeavors. 🌟As parents, let's continue supporting our children's dreams, guiding them with love and wisdom, and cheering them on as they take the steps towards success. It's our job to help them soar to new heights! 🚀❤️#ProudParent #ParentingJourney #DreamBig #HockeyPassion #GrowingTogether #YoungEntrepreneurs #DreamChasers #GoalSetters #InspiringMoments #FamilyFirst #KidsGoals #PassionandPurpose #WorkHardPlayHarder

As parents, Deborah and I have a couple of go to ideas:◾ You are only as happy as your least happy child.◾ No matter how old there are, they will always be our kids.◾ Our kids being happy and fulfilled is our measure of success.◾ They will always have a place to come home to.That's not to say they were angels or that we didn't make mistakes. But I think we did a pretty good job. It's fun to look at them and see how we have influenced them through genetics and guidance.Sophie inherited her entrepreneurial gene from Deborah and decided early in her college career that she 1) didn't want to work in an office, 2) have to get dressed up, or 3) have to be tied to someone else's schedule. So, when she came to us and wanted to pursue coaching and her budding thrifting business after graduation, we were supportive. And she supports herself! From me, she got the structured thinking, focus on details, love of a great spreadsheet. Over time she came to understand more about business fundamentals and was willing -- sometimes -- to take advice from us both. In return, Sophie is always on the hunt for items for us and we get first dibs. The joy of finding a pair of sneakers for $10 that gets resold for $470 is only matched by finding a perfectly ironic t-shirt for us to wear proudly. Our real reward is to seeing her growth and development as a person, a business owner, and daughter.#entrepreneur #parenting

On today's dog walk, something special caught my eye. Taped to a light pole, a handwritten sign by local kids advertising their new business. Their pitch? "Smart Kids."From pet sitting and raking to mowing and dog walking, these kids are not just offering services — they're seeking like minded peers to join their venture.💡 I love the entrepreneurial spirit here; it's a throwback to the lemonade stands and paper routes of my youth. 👊 This sign is more than just cute; it's a reminder of the hustle and ingenuity that often start in childhood. It's where many of us got our start, learning lessons that would stick with us throughout our careers.💬 Jump in the wayback machine with me. TECH JOURNEY :: DAY 16Turning Dreams into Reality: The Inspiring Journey of Howard Schultz! Once upon a time, in a world filled with challenges and dreams, there lived a young boy named Howard. Howard's family didn't have much, living in a small apartment in a neighborhood filled with struggles. His father, a hardworking man, faced tough times after an injury that left the family in financial distress. But Howard was a dreamer. Despite the hardships, he never stopped dreaming of a better life. He worked hard in school, even playing football and earning a scholarship to college. Howard had a passion for communication and decided to pursue it, taking student loans and working odd jobs to pay for his education. After college, Howard faced rejection and setbacks. He worked at different jobs, but his heart longed to work at a place where he could make a difference. He dreamed of a coffee experience like the one he had in Italy, where the owners knew their customers by name. One day, Howard's dream took a new turn. He decided to start his own coffee company, Il Journale. It wasn't easy. He faced countless rejections while trying to raise money, but Howard never gave up. He believed in his vision and worked tirelessly to make it a reality.Years passed, and Howard's company struggled at first. But he never lost hope. He kept working hard, learning from failures, and staying true to his dream. Then, an opportunity arose when Starbucks faced bankruptcy. Howard saw this as a chance to turn his dream into something bigger. He bought Starbucks and became its CEO, rebranding the company with a new vision. Today, Starbucks has thousands of stores worldwide, thanks to Howard's determination and belief in his dreams.Howard's story teaches us a valuable lesson: "Life is a series of near misses. A lot of what we ascribe to luck is not luck at all—it's seizing the day and accepting responsibility for your future." So let us all be like Howard, dream big, work hard, and never give up on our dreams.Remember: "A year from now you will wish you had started today".#DreamBig #Resilience #Perseverance #Inspiration #SuccessStory #Entrepreneurship #SeizeTheDay #TakeControl #TransformYourDreams #BelieveInYourself
