The Electric | Making the Forever Battery (2024)

This event has passed. You can find the full recording of the call here.

A century after automobile pioneers gave up on electric vehicles as unworkable and went to gasoline, electricity is back. Over the next decade, it is thought that electric SUVs, pickups and sedans will get their revenge and begin to push out combustion. Their weapon: the vastly better battery.

In its second live chat, The Electric is delighted to present a conversation between editor Steve LeVine and Sila Nano CEOGene Berdichevsky, who for a decade and a half has helped to lead development of some of the world’s most important commercial batteries.

The free version of The Electric will end Sunday, September 12th. Sign up here for the paid beta.

  • Steve LeVineis Editor ofThe Electric. Previously, he worked at Axios, Quartz and Medium, and before that The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. He is the author of The Powerhouse: America, China and the Great Battery War.
