What started out as a project to busy myself evolved into a loving review of the themes that came forward for me in 2024, month-by-month.
I was inspired by Nikki’s Best of the Year post that had me ready to reflect on 2024 before December even came.
2024 felt like everything blew up, for better or worse.
I did complete my Saturn Return after all.
I’m the type of person that if I need to know what I was doing during a specific time period, I go to my photos app. It’s not that I capture photos of myself often documenting every happening, I don’t. In fact, I don’t take as many photos of myself as I should (2025 goal?). It’s that when something catches my eye or feels memorable, I likely have a photo of the people, the setting, the area, or something that would remind me of it.
As I adjusted my photos app to organize by month, I scrolled to January 2024. As I skimmed through all of the photos, I was reminded of where I was and what I was doing as 2024 began (in San Diego with my love and one of my best friend’s and her love - such sweet memories!).
As I made my way through the months, I decided to pull out the photos that marked notable memories and pivotal moments to create a collage for the month and the year as a whole.
Making my way through my Photos app, I could see the changes, the challenges, the big wins and the hard moments just simply by the feel of my photos week-by-week. If I were to reflect on 2024, how would I sum up all that happened? Happy and hopeful above in the photo in La Jolla, I could’ve never mapped out all that occurred in 2024, the good and the bad. I am thankful it all occurred but holy shit.
I wish I could share the details of it all but some feels too personal and much of it isn’t my story to tell, just stories I was wrapped in too tightly to and had to get out.
I was craving a way to wrap it all up in words so that I can express gratitude and close the year on what feels like such a high with big hopeful exciting things ahead in 2025.
It didn’t feel authentic to look back now - after the fact - and try to sum it up in words. What I didn’t initially notice was that I had already found words and saved them in my camera roll.
When I see a quote that resonates or sets off a ‘ping’ for me, I capture it. Each month, my camera roll had screenshots and photos of little quotes saved.
These captured words month-by-month became a little window into my world each month. Be it similar to flipping through a journal, these were either resonate words at the time or words I wanted to better resonate with in the future.
Rather than sharing a 2024 recap in photos, achievements, lessons, and other lists, I’ve gathered my most impactful words of 2024.

I encourage you to find your unique way to reflect back on the past year. It’s December. The holidays are near. The weather is shifting. It’s time to melt into gratitude, love, and ease so that we enter 2025 recharged and ready for an epic year ahead.
