Aruba Is Hiring for the 'Easiest Job in the World' — and It Comes With a Week in Paradise (2024)
Looking for a new gig? How about one that requires little to no work at all, and comes with a week in paradise?
The Aruba Tourism Authority is on the hunt for someone to fill the role of the island's weather person, which it bills as the “world's easiest job.”
Why is it so easy? The tourism authority explainedthat Aruba experiences more sunny days than any other Caribbean island. This means it’s just day after day of the exact same reporting. And because there’s usually little to report, save for the occasional tiny fluffy cloud, you need literally zero experience to apply.
"So often, unexpected weather conditions force travelers to reschedule their long-awaited vacations. Fortunately, Aruba is blessed to have consistently clear, sunny skies, making it the perfect destination for visitors to explore and enjoy any time of the year," Aruba Tourism Authority CEO Ronella Croes said in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure. "Through the 'World's Easiest Job' campaign, we are aiming to find the perfect weatherperson to help us showcase the island's wonderful weather."
The “job” involves taking over weather reporting duties on Aruba's social channels. It includes a 6-night, 7-day trip for two to Aruba. The weatherperson will spend their week on the island at the new Embassy Suites by Hilton Aruba Resort — just steps from the gorgeous Eagle Beach, which is home to some of the bluest water in the world.
Those who are interested should visit aruba.com/WorldsEasiestJob, register, and submit your “best 30-second Aruba weather report.” The tourism authority even dropped a hint for the sample weather report: It’s “probably 80° and sunny.” Applications are open now through March 31.
