How good is the Wagner paint sprayer? ›

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great, well working product! This sprayer is well balanced in your hand, it has a great adjustable spray pattern, and cleans up easily. The larger parts come apart for cleaning nicely.

If you are using a gravity feed HVLP spray gun and not getting any paint in your pattern this is most likely due to needing to thin your paint, needing a larger fluid nozzle, or needing to use a system that will force the material to the spray gun like a Dekups cup option.

This can be caused by a number of reasons from paint consistency, low air pressure, damaged needles, tip dry or a partially block nozzle. Dried paint/tip dry on the needle – Remove needle and clean with a cloth dampened with airbrush cleaner.

If this is the issue you experience the most likely cause is that the transducer is worn out. The transducer signals to the airless pump that pressure is needed and signals to run the pump to build pressure. Failure to build pressure often indicates that you need to replace the transducer.

Do I need to dilute the paint when spraying with a HVLP paint sprayer? Diluting may be necessary on smooth surfaces and for viscous, gel-like materials. Mixing with water is also recommended if the atomisation is too coarse or the volume of paint is too low (even on the maximum setting).

The included tip worked well for spraying the doors and I was really happy with the results. I only ended up with one noticeable run/flaw. There was a little bit more overspray than I was expecting, but there was a little wind to contend with. Cleanup was pretty straight forward and went pretty well.

The sprayer's iSpray nozzle is perfect for tackling large areas like this ceiling. Just twist the suction tube so it's pointing down while you spray. That way it's able to pull all of the paint from the container.

Can you leave paint in Wagner sprayer between coats? ›

Yes! We would happily leave paint in a sprayer for the day and even overnight if I was using it the following day. However, if you are finished spraying, give it a good clean and get it ready for storage.

To keep the sprayer in tip top shape we recommend cleaning the sprayer after every use. However, there may be times when you need to finish your project the next day. In that case you can leave your material in the sprayer over night in a cool dry area.
