Does UWM give merit scholarships? ›

In recognition of outstanding academic achievement, UWM awards merit-based admission scholarships to incoming first-year students each year through a competitive scholarship awarding process. Awards range from $1,500 to $5,000, and some may be renewable.

Froedtert Hospital /ˈfreɪdərt/, located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, is a teaching hospital and a Level I adult trauma center, one of two such facilities in Wisconsin. Froedtert is the primary teaching affiliate of the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), where MCW students and residents receive their clinical education.

UWM has a scholarship program for newly admitted international undergraduate students. Scholarship award decisions are based on academic merit and the diversity of the candidate (i.e. how the candidate contributes to the diversity of UWM).

Minimum requirements range from around 2.0 on the lower end to 3.75 or higher for competitive academic scholarships. Generally speaking, a 3.0 GPA or higher will give you a decent shot at qualifying for a variety of scholarships.

Still, even if a highly selective school offers merit scholarships, these awards are difficult to win — you'll be competing against a huge pool of similarly talented students for a limited number of scholarships. So if you're applying to top colleges, don't count on getting tons of merit aid from them.
